BACKGROUND AND COVERAGE
On March 30, 2021, Governor Northam signed into law the new G-3 “Get skilled. Get a job. Give back.” bill that provides tuition free community college training in priority high-demand trades for low-income Virginia residents.  See Governor‘s G3 Initiative NortherVirginia Community College
Panelists will discuss the Virginia G-3 initiative as well as programs:
1) to prepare older youth who have aged out of their secondary education cohorts and adults for GED testing to obtain high school equivalency certification, and
2) to build the basic skills needed to successfully apply for, and success at work. These programs all open the door for volunteer mentoringcoaching and equipping to support potential eligible and qualified participants in these job readiness training initiatives.
