Meet Our Presenters

Dr. Ashkan Monfared has been a Baha’i all of his life and a member of the Baha’i community of McLean since 2010. He is a Professor of Surgery and Neurosurgery at GW University Medical Center and lives in McLean with his wife and two children.

Rabbi Jeffrey was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York and has been a member of the clergy team at Temple Rodef Shalom since 2007. In addition to his other rabbinical roles, Rabbi Saxe is deeply involved in social justice work that seeks to pursue Jewish values in efforts at Tikkun Olam, repairing the world. He lives in Falls Church with his wife and three children.

Dr. Richa Agarwala is the Outreach Coordinator for Chinmaya Mission Washington Regional Center (CMWRC) and a Hindu representative on various interfaith forums. Richa received her Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Banaras Hindu University and has a doctorate in Computer Science from Iowa State University. She currently works as a scientist in the field of Bioinformatics. She as two adult sons.

Members, friends, and supporters of McLean Baptist Church and its partner
organizations will be preparing and delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner to
people in need in the Northern Virginia area for this annual event. This is a
family friendly volunteer opportunity with jobs appropriate for all ages. All
meals will be prepared and packaged at:

Prepare and Package Meals
Use their own vehicle to deliver meals (drivers must be age 25 or older).
Organizations and shelters are located within 30 minutes of McLean.

Creating Hope in Loss was led by Rev. Dr. Cindy Wallace, who currently serves as the Mental Health Chaplain at the Washington DC Medical Center where she has worked since 2019.
