IFC’s annual Unity Walk is a public demonstration of love and support for all who live in our region. Walk with participants of all ages to visit different houses of worship in upper Northwest DC to learn about and experience diverse faith traditions. There will be additional opportunities to engage with fellow walkers through moderated speed dialogues, a family activity, hosted by the Center for Children and Theology, an intergenerational storytelling workshop, hosted by the Multifaith Storytelling Institute, an interfaith environmental workshop, hosted by Interfaith Power and Light-DMV, and more! Come by yourself or bring friends to celebrate the wonderful diversity that exists in our region.
This year’s walk will take place on Sunday, September 10th from 12:30pm-5:30pm. Tickets are $10 or $5 (students, seniors, and those of limited income). All participants must register. If it is against your religious practice to handle money on Sundays, you can register for the walk here. There are several ways to get to this year’s Unity Walk. If you are driving, there will be free on street parking around Washington Hebrew Congregation. There is also free street parking further along Massachusetts Ave., NW should you want to drive part of the route. If you’ll be taking the Metro, the closest Metro stop to the Unity Walk is Tenleytown Metro (Red Line) which is about a 10-15min. walk from Washington Hebrew Congregation. The length of the walk is about 1.7mi. You are welcome to join us for as much of walk as is comfortable for you.
